Rural Murals Residency - Liubnitsa, Bulgaria 2019
I created a site-specific mural during the first edition of Rural Mural Residency in November, 2019. This was more of an experiment trying some textural paste which I made up myself and trying to manipulate the walls with minimal shapes ( new "structural" delineation on top of the existing architecture). The residency took place at abandoned Bulgarian school, built during the Communistic regime in the '40s.
The spirit of many life cycles, connected to this place, people's lives, long gone or completely untied from the collective memory inspired me for this site-specific project. The social neglect that happened here for many years provoke all of us to mark a new beginning. Creating new characters, new mythology and new lines - new memories for those who will find this abandoned building in the forests of south west Bulgaria.

Digital case studies related to the project
These images are not real murals. I've done them as a digital case studies and there is an actual mural there by another artist in reality but I wanted to explore different manipulations of the wall. One of the images appeared to me in a dream (the split wall).
